Enhanced Safety

Power several devices simultaneously

Reduce energy consumption

Premium Fireproof Surge Protection

Traditional surge suppression products use standard Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs). All TrickleStar APSs use ceramic-encased MOVs, which suppress more energy and dissipate heat faster than traditional MOVs. This makes them fireproof during most surges.

EMI/RFI Noise Filtering

The PowerTap features advanced noise filtering circuitry that reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), delivering cleaner power, and improved video and sound quality.

How It Works

The APT works on a simple control/switched basis. When the control device, typically a small TV or computer, is on, the switched outlets will have power and the devices plugged into them can be used. When the control device is turned off (or goes into a power-saving mode), the devices plugged into the switched outlets automatically turn off and stop drawing standby power. This saves energy, reducing the user's electric bill and saving them money.

4 Outlets

Includes 1 control outlet, 1 always-on outlets and 2 switched outlets.

15 Amp Resettable Circuit Breaker

Provides enhanced safety and protection by manual reset after a power surge, eliminating the need for replacement parts.

1,080 Joules of Surge Protection

Premium fireproof protection to safeguard your devices from power surges.

Adjustable Threshold Switch

Set the threshold based on the power consumption of the control device.

18W - Notebook/Netbook PC
35W - Desktop PC/TV

LED Indicators

Equipped with LED indicators for surge, ground, and switched status, this powertap keeps you informed about the protection status against power surges, ensure proper grounding, and confirm the operational status of your connected devices.

Low Power Consumption

The powertap consumes less than 1 watt continuously, ensuring minimal energy usage while remaining operational. This energy-efficient design helps reduce overall power consumption and lowers your electricity bills.

Ceramic-encased MOVs

Suppress more energy and dissipate heat faster,
eliminating fire risks from MOV failures

High Quality PCB

The powertap's circuit board has better temperature
resistance and mechanical properties.

FAQs

Find answers to common questions about our product to help you get the most out of your experience.

What does it mean if the Ground LED is not lit on my device?

If the Ground LED is not lit, it indicates that the product is not correctly grounded. To resolve this issue, try plugging the product into another power outlet. If the Ground LED still does not light up, there may be a grounding issue with the electrical system, and you should consult an electrician.

Why should I use the 'Always On Outlet' for my Tivo, Router, Fax Machine, or DSL Modem?

The 'Always On Outlet' is designed to remain powered at all times, regardless of the status of the 'Control Outlet'. This ensures that essential devices like your Tivo, Router, Fax Machine, or DSL Modem continue to operate without interruption. When the Always On LED is lit, it indicates that this outlet is receiving power and your devices should be functioning correctly.

How does the device operate under normal conditions?

Under normal operation, when your PC or TV is turned on, the accessories connected to the device will also turn on. When your PC or TV is turned off or in standby mode, the accessories will turn off automatically, ensuring there is no standby power consumption. Surge protection is provided to all devices at all times, regardless of their status.

What is the Switching Threshold and how can I adjust it?

The Switching Threshold determines at what power level the Switched outlets turn On or Off. The product comes with a 'Switching Threshold Switch' located on the rear. It has two preset thresholds: 18W, typically suitable for Notebook and Netbook PCs, and 35W, typically for Desktop PCs and TVs. You can adjust this threshold to customize the operation according to your device's power consumption needs.
